How to Spend a Perfect Week At One of the Best Adult Only Resorts In Fiji

When we started planning our trip to Fiji, one thing was certain, this wasn’t going to be just any holiday.

We wanted an adults only paradise. Somewhere we could unwind, disconnect, and soak up the island vibes without a care in the world.

After diving into research, one resort kept standing out: Lomani Island Resort Fiji, tucked away in the stunning Mamanuca Islands.

So why Lomani? It promised the perfect mix of luxury, seclusion, and that dreamy Fijian hospitality.

And as one of the adult only resorts in Fiji, it meant no little feet running around. Exactly what we were looking for!

But Lomani isn’t the only hidden gem in the Mamanucas. This region is packed with stunning, tranquil escapes.

Why Choose the Mamanuca Islands for Your Fiji Getaway?

The Mamanuca Islands are a cluster of 20 stunning islands just off the coast of Nadi, making them really easy to get to.

Out of those, about 13 have resorts you can stay at, ranging from laid back to ultra luxurious. It’s the perfect mix of options, no matter what kind of vibe you’re after.

The islands themselves are renowned for crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, and luxury adults only Fiji resorts.

And trust me when I say, resorts in Mamanuca Island Fiji are on a whole other level.

While we chose Lomani for its romantic, over 18’s ambiance, the area as a whole offers a big variety of options.

Here are some resorts we considered before settling on Lomani:

If you’re after a luxurious escape, Tokoriki Island Resort is a standout for its romantic overwater bungalows and serene vibe.

For something a bit livelier, Castaway Island Resort combines barefoot luxury with all the comforts you could ask for.

And if family friendly is on your list as opposed to an adult only resort in Fiji, then Plantation Island Resort is a must.

The Mamanuca Islands are full of stunning resorts, but how do you decide which one is perfect for your trip? If you’re still unsure, don’t miss our detailed post on how to choose the right Fiji adults only resort to help you make the right choice!

Yasawa Islands

If you’re craving solitude and untouched beauty, the Yasawa Islands are where you’ll find it. This region feels more remote, offering secluded resorts tucked away on some of the most breathtaking beaches you’ll ever see. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to slow down and enjoy Fiji’s natural beauty at its best. Expect crystal-clear lagoons, soft white sand, and an unhurried pace of life.

Denarau Island

Denarau Island is your go-to if convenience is a priority. It’s just a stone’s throw from Nadi, which makes getting there a breeze. While it’s a bit more developed and commercial, it’s home to some incredible resorts that balance comfort and luxury. You’ll also find an 18-hole golf course, a marina for day trips, and plenty of dining options. It’s a great choice if you want the best of both worlds: easy access and indulgent island vibes.

Coral Coast

The Coral Coast offers a little bit of everything, making it ideal for travellers who want variety in their Fiji experience. Along this stretch of coastline, you’ll find stunning beaches perfect for lazy days, plus opportunities to dive into Fijian culture, with village tours and fire walking ceremonies. The resorts here cater to all kinds of travellers, so whether you’re after best family resorts in Fiji or a quiet, romantic retreat, you’ll find something to suit.

Viti Levu

Viti Levu, Fiji’s main island, is the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. You can explore lush rainforests, tackle a river rafting trip, or just do absolutely nothing and unwind at one of its many resorts. It’s great for both couples and families.

Day 1: Arrival and Settling In

Check-In: Arrive at Lomani Island Resort and step into your beachfront pool bure. You’re honestly not going to want to leave. So make sure you hop straight into your swimmers, wander down to your own private beachfront for a dip then cool off in your own private pool. The view from your balcony will literally take your breath away. Your room is only a few steps from the sand and the ocean.

Lunch: Tuck into a delicious meal at the Flame Tree Restaurant. You may even want to indulge in a few sneaky cocktails or a wine. They have a fantastic bar menu available.

Relaxation: Lounge by your private pool or snap up a cabana around the resort pool with a delicious fresh cocktail in hand.

Adventure: Head down to the beach front and take a glass-bottom kayak and snorkel out to the house reef. It’s so close, you can swim out if you like. The staff has put together the cutest underwater Krusty the Crab set up beneath the water. It’s a must see!

Day 2: Adventure and Culture

Surfing Safari: Hop on a surf trip out to nearby world-famous surf breaks like Cloudbreak or Namotu Left with your own personal surf guide. They can take you to the best breaks on the day or to your favourite spot on request.

Local Village Visit: This is where you really get to immerse yourself in Fijian culture with a visit to the nearby Solevu village. We were greeted by the chief on arrival. He then shared a traditional kava ceremony with us. We visited during school holidays and were lucky enough to have a few children still on the island. They and their teachers took us for a wander through their school and to meet some of the locals. This was a true highlight of our trip.

Dinner with Polynesian Performance: Dinner at scrumptious Flame Tree Restaurant. If you’re lucky enough to time your visit just right, you may be treated to a Polynesian performance and fire show. Just wow!

Day 3: Relaxation and Romance

Breakfast and Pool: Start your day the best way, with breakfast in your bungalow, dining by the ocean followed by a dip in your own private pool.

BULA Reef and Underwater Museum: Our day at BULA Reef with Lomani Island’s marine scientist was fascinating. Fiji’s coral conservation efforts are front and center here, with projects aimed at restoring coral ecosystems impacted by climate change. Fun fact: The word “BULA” is spelled out underwater using coral frames, visible from above, a creative way to promote reef health and awareness. You can read more on Lomani Island Resort’s phenomenal conservation efforts here.

Beachside Spa: Now THIS is non negotiable. And in all honesty, it should be at the top of your list every single day of your stay at Lomani Island Resort. A couples massage! On the beach! Surrounded by the soothing sounds of the ocean. I mean, seriously, what’s not to love about that! Try to schedule your message for the end of the day. There’s nothing quite like a seaside Fijian massage right before bed.

Romantic Sunset: Oh! One more thing before you head for bed! Treat yourself to sunset bubbles and beanbags on the beach, followed by an intimate beachfront dinner.

Day 4: Island Exploration

Private Sandbank Picnic: Escape to a private sandbank for a picnic surrounded by the sea. This is pure magic! And entirely weather dependent, but one you should pop on your bucket list regardless.

Bula Bike Ride: Lomani Island Resort has bikes available for guests. You can hop on and take a tour around the island. It’s also a super fun way to get around.

Cloud 9 Visit: Get ready for fun! You hop on a speed boat and Lomani Island crew whip you out to a floating bar in the middle of the ocean. This is where you get to spend the afternoon jumping off the deck and into the ocean, lounging around in the sun, all while sipping on cocktails and listening to music. Ahhhh… take me back!

Day 5: Dolphin Safari and Snorkeling

Dolphin Safari: Another excuse to hop on board a boat and tour around all the famous surf breaks and surrounding islands. It’s a great way to see beyond Lomani Island Resort and if you don’t surf, it’s also a great way to see what all the fuss is about with the nearby surf spots. And if you’re lucky enough, you’ll spot some friendly turtles and spinner dolphins along the way. Our favourite part? Snorkelling world-famous Astrolabe Reef, one of the largest barrier reefs in the world.

Dinner and Farewell Cocktails on The Beach: One last chance to really lean into the Fiji lifestyle with some farewell cocktails on the beach, followed by your final meal at Lomani Island Resort.

Day 6: Farewell and Check Out

Farewell: This is the part where you will truly feel like your heart is breaking in two. Check out of Lomani Island Resort and transfer to Denarau Marina for your return journey.

Day Pass at Gateway Hotel: This is one of the best parts about your final day in Fiji. It honestly softens the blow of checking out of Lomani Island Resort. As soon as you hop off your boat transfer, you can head to the nearby Gateway Hotel where you can purchase a day pass for around $15. This gives you unlimited access to the hotels pool, facilities, showers, bathrooms, bar and restaurant. That way you can feel relaxed and refreshed before hopping on your plane home.
